One fine day, we had the idea of opening Alberto’s ancient family home, Palazzo Bracci — an impressive historic building in Montepulciano — to a series of cultural initiatives that would allow it to play once again an active role within the community and, at the same time, bridge the gap between the town’s life and the outside world. Our ambition is to create an environment that will be ideally suited to the exchange and enjoyment of culture; a non-static space, open to literary happenings, where we will host writers from different countries, hold book presentations and public readings. Temporary residencies for writers will be offered, alongside creative writing and translation workshops. We are also looking to launch a literary prize.
Associazione Palazzo Bracci has therefore a double objective: to preserve this important building, and to put it to good use, in its entirety or in part, as a venue for exhibitions, literary and cultural events in general. The whole second floor will be set aside for residential use, to house the artists or the participants to the planned courses and workshops. The first floor, or piano nobile, will be used for communal activities and other initiatives.
